Post My First Build
So, this computer was initially built quite a while ago [1/7/2008], but I have been slowly changing things. Since I originally posted this on Xoxideforums, and it may be going away, I'm going to post it here.

Here are the pics, and they are all from different stages of it's life, from beginning to current:

So, this is my first build ever. I have a few more things I'd like to do to it, such as adding some blue LED fans, new DVD drive and burner, different fan controller, another HDD, and wire my UV cathodes up. I actually painted the inside with blue ClearNeon UV paint, but I'm not too impressed, so I just stuck some blue cathodes in there instead. I will wire the UV ones up though, just because I have them. Anyway, here are the specs, and then the pics:

- Lian-Li PC60-B Plus II
- ASUS M2n-sli Deluxe
- AMD x2 6000+ @ 3.3GHz [w/ Zalman 9700]
- OCZ Reaper HPC RAM [PC6400, 2x1GB, 4-4-4-12]
- XFX 8600GT XXX Edition
- OCZ StealthXstream 600W
- 500GB WD Caviar Sata
- Vista HP [eventually dualboot with XP pro]
- Hanns-G 17" monitor, Logitech G15, Sunbeam Chromatic Windmill [kind of sucks], etc...

- The case doesn't come with a window, so I cut it myself. My goal was to cut it good enough that I didn't need to use any c-channel. I'd say I did a d*** good job.
Image

- I don't have a fan in the side vent, and my temps are fine. I kind of want to cut it out, and re-etch a new window, but this one took me around 10 hours, so I'm not in a huge hurry.

Image

- Kind of blurry, but my camera sucks a big one.

Image

Image

-The CD book actually has a little over 200 movies, and grows each day.

Image

- AMAZING keyboard. I'm so glad I spent the money on it.

Image

- Using Everest to display my temps. It is pretty cool, as it lets you completely customize the display.

UPDATE FROM 01/25/2008:
-------------------------------------------

Well, I decided to paint the inside of my case. I decided I wanted a texturized black finish, but I couldn't find any black paint that gave a texture, so this is how I did it.
1) Remove everything (Duh)
2) Sand all the bare metal to be painted
3) Prime everything
4) Apply texture spray paint. (I used Rust-oleum American Accents Stone finish)
5) Paint over top with flat black paint.

Anywho, here are the pics of the finished product. Overall, I'm pretty happy.

Not that anyone can see it, but I also installed Windows XP Pro, in a dual boot fashion. So, when ever Vista pisses me off, I can just use XP. However, I haven't had a single issue with Vista, so I don't see what everybody is whining about.

As you can see here, I moved my HDD to the unused floppy bays, and got rid of the HDD cage. I also hid the speaker that beeps at POST. It makes the case look so much more spacious.

My next plans:
1) Recut side panel, and re-etch window. (Kind of undecided if I want to keep the current picture, or change it to the one in my avatar)
2) Change out the stock fans for some of the blue LED variety.
3) Add a Raptor-X as my primary HDD
4) Get a new DVD Drive, as well as a DVD Burner. I want SATA models so I can get rid of the only IDE cable I have. If you can recommend any good drives, please do so.
5) Get a new fan controller. Possibly the Zalman one, but not sure.
6) Who knows what else.

UPDATE FROM 05/03/2009:
----------------------------------------

Anywho, I haven't done too much to my computer lately, but I did do a few things. Here are the pics:

I cut out the mesh on the side that I've been wanting to do for so long:
Image

Then I decided to cut a hole in the top too. I was a little nervous about this getting scratched up, but so far it hasn't too bad. I didn't actually fix the plexi to the metal, so if it does get scratched up, I can just cut a new piece and pop it in there in less than five minutes.

Image

Image

And last but not least, it's not really a "mod" per se, but it is an addition. I got a 23" inch 1080p Dell monitor for graduating college. It is absolutely awesome.

Image

My next plans are to add more lights, like I said a long time ago. I'm not sure if I want to make the switch to red or stick with blue. I suppose I'll buy both and find out what I like the best. If I don't use them on this one, I can always save them for another build. Once I decide on the light color, I want to paint all the bare aluminum inside either metallic blue or red. This includes the mobo tray, and the back panel. I also have a mod in progress that includes a dremel, body filler, and some lazer leds of what ever color I decide on. You'll have to just wait and see that one though.

UPDATE FROM 07/20/2009:
-------------------------------------------

This is actually something I've been slowly working on, mostly due to a lack of motivation, but finally got it done. I decided to take a broken DVD burner, and cut a few holes in the cover. I then traded the cover on the broken one for the cover on my working, and this is the result:

Image

Image

I'm not terribly good with body filler, etc.., but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It's not anything I've seen done here, but I have seen plenty of people do it to Xbox1s. It's really where I got the inspiration.

Anywho, I would like to add some laser LEDs shining on it so you can see it better at night, but I'm sure it'll be a while before I get around to it.

One last note, when burning with that drive, it's LOUD as hell when it spins up fast. As a result, I've been using my other burner for that purpose. Otherwise, it's not too loud during normal use.

PS. I finally got around to taking everything out of the case and painting all remaining bare metal with red metal flake paint. I'll get pictures of that up soon.
